SPEECH - LANGUAGE - READING

I am an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) accredited Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a current license in the state of Florida. I graduated with Masters of Science from Florida International University. I have served clients from infancy to adulthood.  I am the Owner of Connect Therapy Services, LLC located in Miami, FL.  I  earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Florida International University in Miami. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia: Assessment and Intervention from the University of Florida. My current focus is on the Speech and Language connection as it relates to literacy skills.

To date, I have worked as a speech therapist in the Miami-Dade Public School System for 17 years serving preschool, elementary and middle school populations. I have also had experience and worked in the private practice field for 24 years. I am bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English.

With 23 years of experience, Maria has had extensive experience working as a public education and private practice setting clinician. She has worked with children with Autism, Down's syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Stuttering,  as well as with Specific Learning Disabilities such as Dyslexia. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based therapeutic interventions and sessions are tailored to each client's individualized needs.
